International Conference on Women in Arts Empowering Voices and Transforming
Perspectives was conducted by the Department of Music on the 24th and 25th of April,
2025. The opening session of the Conference took place on the 24th of April, 2025, at the
Cauvery Hall of the University. Vice-Chancellor (Officiating) Professor Dr. Jyoti Prakash
Tamang served as the Chief Guest for the event.
The goal of the Conference is to acknowledge the accomplishments and influence of women
in the nation's various artistic expressions and to
create a forum for candid discussions regarding the challenges and opportunities faced
by female artists while engaging with traditional and contemporary cultural
forms. By promoting networking and collaboration, the conference aims to motivate new
connections and assist the forthcoming generation of voices in the arts.
Prof. Tamang expressed his congratulations to the Department of Music for hosting the
conference and noted that Music has a distinctive capacity to bring people together
from all walks of life, cultivating a sense of connection and shared experience. Prof. Tamang
also highlighted that music has the ability to surpass language barriers, foster a sense of
community, and evoke profound emotions.
